David Clarke O'Steen

David Clarke O’Steen, 74, of Branford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, June 2, 2026 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 9, 1951 to the late Lee and Mary Forrester O’Steen. He has made Branford his home for over the last 16 years, moving here from Jacksonville. He worked for over 36 years with the City of Jacksonville/JEA before retiring in 2009. He was a member of Peace Baptist Church in Branford; and in his spare time he enjoyed square dancing and spending time with his animals and pets. He is preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie O’Steen.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 17 years, Patricia “Pat” O’Steen’ son, Robbie O’Steen (Charlene); daughters, Amye O’Steen, Niki Swearinger, Lynn Mexixner and Stephanie McCullar; and step-son, Eric Carver (Amanda). Two brothers, Jerry O’Steen and Kenneth O’Steen along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

A Memorial Service for Mr. O’Steen will be conducted on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. in the Peace Baptist Church of Branford, 7794 US HWY 27, Branford, FL, 32008, with Pastor Leroy Dobbs officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service at the church.
