Obituary

David Eugene Ingram, 81, of Wellborn, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, October 31, 2019 at Haven-Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center in Lake City after an extended illness. He was born in Suwannee County on August 26, 1938 to the late Walter and Vera Hutchingson Ingram. He has made Suwannee County his home most of his life and was a US Army Veteran, having served in the Germany area, and driving the Commanding Generals of the European Forces during his time there. Once he came back from the Army, he went back to being a Tug Boat Captain and then finally he enjoyed farming. He was a member of the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church and in his younger days, he enjoyed fishing; and later enjoyed going to the mountains and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. He was also known to have a great sense of humor. He is preceded in death by six siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Mary Ingram of Wellborn; daughters, Alice Faye Roberts and Emma Owens (Tommy) both of Live Oak; brothers, Donnie Ingram of Live Oak and Frank Ingram (Fran) of Suwannee County; sister, Virginia Bell of Live Oak and half-sister, Bernice "Pete" Dean of Jacksonville. Three grandchildren, Amy, Megan and Samantha along with eight great-grandchildren also survive.

A celebration of life service for Mr. Ingram will be conducted on Saturday, November 2, 2019 in the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Lewis Gooch and Bro. Dwight Law officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be considered to Haven Hospice, 6037 W US Highway 90, Lake City, FL 32055 or to the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, 16292 45th Rd, Wellborn, FL 32094 in Mr. Ingram's memory.
