On Tuesday, July 27, 2021 the world as we know it was forever changed as David Leland Hess was called home. David was 41 years old and was born in Largo, Florida to Donald L. Hess Sr. and Peggy L. (Watson) Hess on October 1, 1979. In 1994 the family moved to Lake City, Florida which is where he met the love of his life (Wife) Sylvia (Simard) Hess. David was a foreman/Diesel Mechanic by trade and was currently employed at V.E. Whitehurst & Sons, Inc. He was a member of The Church at SouthRidge "The Orchard". He enjoyed dirt track racing, going to the Mud Boggs, tinkering with vehicles of all types, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents (Paternal) Phil and Mable Hess, (Maternal) John and Robert Watson, and his father Donald L. Hess Sr.

He is survived by his (Wife) Sylvia Hess, (Sons) Wyatt Hess and Peighton Simard, (Mother) Peggy Hess, (Sisters) April Sandall (William), Katie Wiggins (Thomas Biggs), (Brothers) Donald L. Hess Jr. (Cindy), Dean A. Hess (Sonja), John Deputy (Dawn), (Nephews) Frank Sandall, Brandon Sandall (Diane), Cody Hess, Dalton Sorrell, Zachery "Chicken", Jadon, (Nieces) Amber Ashley (Mike), Jo, Kelsi, Christina (Scott), Aislinn, Korra, and Nevaeh as well as many more extended nieces and nephews, (Aunts) Bonnie Watson, Karen Watson, Joyce Nicholson (Carlos), Suzie Stoll, (Uncles) J. Bob Watson, Norm Watson (Annabel), P.Z. Hess.

Memorial Services will be held at 2pm Saturday, August 21, 2021 at The Church at SouthRidge located at 162 SW Ridge St., Lake City, Florida 32024. There will be a celebration of life held at 5pm at the Hess residence located at 1524 SW Sebastian Circle, Lake City, Florida 32024.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME.
