Mr. David DeWitt Bennett, 73, passed away Saturday; November 28th, 2015. David was born in Jesup, Georgia to the late Johnie D. and Eloise [Davis] Bennett and had lived in Wellborn, Florida for the past 3 years, having moved here from Okeechobee, Florida.  David served his country faithfully in the United States Army. He was a loving brother, father, grandfather, great & great great grandfather who enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, NASCAR Racing and his favorite driver Jeff Gordon and shooting his gun with his new gun permit. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sharon and his beloved wife of 18 years, Maruene Bennett (2013).

Survivors include his sons, Johnny D. (Tina) Bennett of Yulee, FL and Dennis Gallo of Okeechobee, FL; daughters, Sonia (John) Anderson of San Antonio, TX, Victoria A. (Jerry) Dennard of Wellborn, FL, Deborah McKee of Okeechobee, FL; mother of his children, Barbara Butler of Wellborn, FL; brothers, William J. (Jackie) Bennett, and Wilbur G. "Pee Wee" Bennett both of Punta Gorda, FL,; sisters, Shirley Garrison of Yulee, FL, Martha (Carl) Brooks of Jacksonville, FL, and Carolyn Coleman of The Villages, FL; grandchildren, William & Johnathan Keel, Dana (John) Pettrey, Jordan, Danielle, Jeremy, & Sheri Dennard, Jamie G. Hawkins, and Bill McKee; 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
