David Allen Brown, Sr., 71 of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at the Advent Health Daytona Beach hospital.  Mr. Brown was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Epstine "Buddy" Brown and Mary Williams Brown.  He was a graduate of Paxon High School in Jacksonville and had made his home in Lake City for many years.  Mr. Brown was the owner and operator of D. Brown Trucking in Lake City for many years.  He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Hopeful Baptist Church in Lake City.  Mr. Brown loved Florida State Football, watching wrestling and Twin Peaks, riding his Harley Davidson, Camping, Fishing, working in the logging woods and Mack and Peterbuilt trucks.  Above that, he loved spending time with his family and friends.  Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Renee Brown, in August of 2024; one son, Matt Brown; and two brothers, William Brown and Guy Brown.

Survivors include his two sons, Buck and Sandy Brown of Port Orange and Richie and Julie Brown of Statesboro, GA; one brother, Steve and Daun Brown of Middleburg; four sisters, Mary Jane and Paul Altman of Middleburg, Linda and James Davis of Lulu, Brenda and Carl Rodgers of Statenville, GA and Sherry and Wade Burlingame of Lake City; seven grandchildren, Shelby (Jim), Hunter, Sam, Maddie Grace, Dalton, Kaylie and Braylee; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be conducted on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Daniel Gilliam officiating.  Interment will follow at Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery.  A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
