Daniel James Whittington, Sr., 72, of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 21, 2024 at the Lake Montgomery Nursing and Rehab center in Lake City after a extended illness. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 24, 1952 to the late Donald Whittington and Dorothy Beudreaux Whittington. He has made Lake City his home for the last ten years, moving here from the Altamonte Springs, Florida area and he was a US Army Veteran. Mr. Whittington was involved in the local American Legion and was of the Catholic Faith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Whittington; sons, Daniel James Whittington, Jr. and Peter Whittington; daughter, Stephanie Whittington and his sister, Elaine Langlois. Six grandchildren along with extended family and friends also survive.

As per Mr. Whttington's wishes, a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME.
