Mr. Daniel Louis Pickering, 76, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) in Lake City, FL., following an extended illness. He is the son of the late Louis Henry Pickering and Janet Smith and is preceded in death by his wife, Rita Pickering.  Daniel had made Lake City his home since 1997 after moving from California. He enjoyed fishing, jigsaw puzzles, he liked history, telling jokes, and spending time with his family.

Daniel is survived by his two sons Micheal Pickering (Sandra) Sanford, FL; David Pickering (Deanna Brock) Lake City, FL; four daughters Brenda Williams(Teddy) Coleman, AL, Melissa Urbanski (Frank) Steinhatchee, FL; Theresa Simmons (Joshua) Lake City, FL; and Corie Pickering (Jessey Davis) Lake City, FL; two brothers Dennis smith (Lydia) Pompano, FL; and Ted Smith. Two sisters, Tammy Umstead (Richard), Tennessee, Beth Ann Easley (Richard), Orlando, FL, and thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and his dog Dorie and cat Jack also survive.
