Daniel Augustus Evans, 54 of Lake City, passed away at home on Saturday, August 13, 2022 following an extended illness.  Daniel was born in Lake City to the late William Evans and Barbara Jean Romines Evans.  He was a lifelong resident of Lake City and was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1985 and a member of the North Lake City Church of God.  Daniel loved music, especially singing and writing songs.  He was a true handyman and accomplished carpenter. He enjoyed building things for his family and dreamed of remodeling and flipping houses.  In 2011, Daniel suffered a hemorrhagic stroke that left him paralyzed for the last 11 years.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Susan R. Johns Evans; his two children, Destiny Evans and Daniel Austin Evans, all of Lake City; three siblings, Donald Evans, Lake City, Martha Evans (Nelson), Lake City and Phillip Evans (Jennifer), Indiana; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Evans will be conducted on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Jason Love officiating.  Interment will follow.  Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening, August 16, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
