Cynthia Fritsche-Young, 84, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Thursday, January1, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Cynthia was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Dallas and Zola [Casey] Hudspeth and had lived in Columbia County since 1983. She was a kind and loving, mother, grandmother and friend, who devoted her time to the care of her family and to the needs of others, as a Registered Nurse with the Veterans Administration Hospital System for 34 years. Cynthia enjoyed serving the Lord at Fellowship Church and was an avid football fan. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Needham and Margaret Sain, her brother, Graydon Hudspeth, her first husband of 27 years, Robert Fritsche (1990) and then her second husband of 9 years, Charles H. Young Jr. in (2005).

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Monique Padgett of Gainesville, FL and Colette (Joe) Sherrill of Lake City, FL; and grandchildren, Brianne Padgett, Abby & Micah Sherrill.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service time (1:00 – 2:00) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) 6037 US Hwy 90 West, Lake City, FL, 32055.
