Cleve Doss Travis, 103 of Fort White, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City. She was born one of twelve children to the late Phillip Victor Doss and Lillie Francisco Doss. Mrs. Travis made her home in the Lake City and Fort White area since 1983 having moved here from Jacksonville. Her and her late husband of 69 years, Dayton Travis, owned and operated the Quality Craft Cleaners in Jacksonville for many years. She was a longtime member of Elim Baptist Church in Fort White and the Order of the Eastern Star in High Springs. In her spare time she enjoyed piddling in her yard and sewing. Mrs. Travis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her 11 siblings; and one daughter-in-law, Patricia Travis.
Survivors include her three sons, Boyd Travis, Ronald Travis (Chris) and Dennis Travis (Sue); her granddaughter, Dana Smith; her grandson, Dale Travis (Nicole); and one great granddaughter, Jordan Grooms also survives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Travis will be conducted on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Elim Baptist Church in Fort White with Rev. Larry Sweat, pastor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening, March 25, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
