Mr. Claude Ulysse Ste-Marie, 76, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Baya Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the son of the late Guy and Germaine Ste-Marie. Claude was a native of Canada but moved to Lake City in 1978. He was a Semi Pro Hockey Player and Semi Pro Baseball Player. Had a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and from 1967 to 1972, he lived in Cameroon, Africa and was the Director and the Course Pro, at a golf course there. He was also a professor at the University there, for the Physical Education Program. Claude went on to become the first Training Coach for the Quebec City Nordiques (WHA) Hockey Team in the seventies. In Lake City, He was the owner of Quail Heights Golf & Country Club for 29 years, he later took over as owner of The Country Club at Lake City in 2009. Mr. Claude was a caring husband, father and grandfather whose kindness and love will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 51 years, Nicole Ste-Marie of Lake City, FL; son, Carl (Stacey) Ste-Marie of Lake City, FL; daughters, Chantal (Todd) Gustavson of Lake City, FL and Nadia Ste-Marie (Bill McKeon) of Annapolis, Maryland; brother, Guy Ste-Marie and sisters, Nicole, Diane & Louise Ste-Marie all of Canada; grandchildren, Darian and Dallas Ste-Marie, Mikah and Hayden Gustavson, Kyle, Noah, and Taylor McKeon.
A Memorial Mass for Mr. Ste-Marie will be conducted at 11:00am on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Epiphany Catholic Church with Father Rob Trujillo officiating. Visitation with the family and friends will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
