Mr. Chester McDonald, 75, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away at his home, on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lake City, Florida to the late Cooper and Margaret [Davis] McDonald. "Chet, as he liked to be called, served in the Vietnam War and later retired from the USAF, after having been stationed for most of his career, divided between time in Great Britain, Germany, Italy, and the rest deployed to Asia, N. Africa, and other areas of Europe, as well as back home in the U.S.A., He finished with 12 years as a civilian contractor w/multiple American aircraft corps. in Saudi Arabia during peacetime as well as during Desert Storm, finally retiring to Pensacola. Chester was a caring husband, father, grandfather, & great grandfather who loved fishing and being with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ernest McDonald; his sisters, Barbara Graham and Phyllis Sears.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 56 years, Anna B. McDonald; son, John (Naomi) McDonald; and daughter, Cari A. Miller all of Pensacola, FL; sister, Doris Strickland of Lake City, FL; grandchildren, Christian, Thomas, John, Joshua, Conner, and Micah; great grandchildren, Michael, Domonic, and Amery.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. (Today), Friday, February 6, 2015 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with Pastor Robert Bass officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service time (1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.
