Obituary

Mr. Charlie W. Ottinger, 94 of Fort White, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 5, 2017.  He was born the middle child of five to the late Claude and Lennie Hux Ottinger in Knox County, Tennessee.  Mr. Ottinger was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy and retired with 20 years of service in 1961.  Following his retirement in 1961, he bought the family farm in Fort White.  Mr. Ottinger was of the Baptist faith and a member of Elim Baptist Church in Fort White.  He enjoyed working his farm and riding horses.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Betty M. Ottinger, Fort White; one son, Curtis Ottinger, Fort White; two daughters, Valerie Bussey (Timmy) and Gina Williamson (Gary) both of Fort White; one brother, Robert Ottinger (Elaine), San Antonio, TX; and two grandchildren, Logan Williamson and Autumn Williamson both of Fort White.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Elim Baptist Church in Fort White with Rev. Larry Sweat officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Monday from 10-11:00 AM at the church.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center at 6037 W US Hwy 90, Lake City, FL 32055.
