IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Geary
Tannachion
April 10, 1987 – April 11, 2025
Charles Geary Tannachion, 38, a lifelong resident of Lake City known to family as "Charlie" and friends as "Chuck," was unexpectedly called to his heavenly home on April 11, 2025.
Charlie was born on April 10,1987, in Lake City, Florida. He is preceded in death by grandparents Tony and Jean Tannachion of Lake City, Robert and Jeanne Thompson of Inverness, James L. Geary, Jr. of Hialeah; and aunt, Johanna Nelson, of Lake City.
Survivors include his devoted parents Charles and Judi Tannachion, big brother James (Ashley) Tannachion, and big sister "sissy" Kari (Pete) Merola, all of Lake City. Aunts Tonia Edenfield (Godmother), Lake City, Jeanne Coleman, Lake City, Joyce Sarno, Coloma, Michigan. Cousins Sheryl Strom, Stephen Nelson, Julianna Weaver, Jocelyn Torres, and "little sis" Mikala Edenfield. Along with nieces, nephews, "brothers" Jarrod Harris, Tito Brown, Najee Cray, and many other close friends. Charlie was a Christian and a cherished son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend whose presence brought light and laughter and whose absence will be deeply felt forever. Sometimes, miracles are simply good people with kind hearts, that God has sent to you.
Charlie was a 2001 graduate of Epiphany Catholic School, a 2005 graduate of Columbia High School and a 2011 graduate of Florida Gateway College where he received his Associate of Arts degree and Certificate of Accounting. He worked at Gamestop, Advance Auto, Follett bookstore at FGC and was currently an Enrollment Specialist at FGC. He was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church
Charlie was a collector of all things, an avid gamer, and the trivia King on any topic. He was known for his quick wit, a devout FSU fan, and told the best "Dad" jokes. His interests included anime, music with an eclectic variety of genres, was a movie buff, and attended MegaCon every year. He donated to many causes and reached multi-galloneer status as a blood donor.
One's greatest legacy is the imprint you leave on the hearts of others. Quoting his friends, Chuck is remembered as always having a kind word to give, eager to offer advice and counsel. He was "funny, inspiring, authentic, a kind soul, the greatest friend, loyal, genuine, an anchor, a big brother to all, honest, a solid comforting constant, a mooring post, and a pillar of the Nerdier Community. He shared his time, laughter, and love freely to all."
The angels are singing welcome! The ancestors are shouting joy! That a beautiful soul has come home to eternal peace and love in the arms of our Lord.
A Funeral Mass honoring Charlie will be conducted on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Epiphany Catholic Church with Rev. Bob Hoffman officiating. A time of visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening, April 22, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
