Mr. Charles Rodney Sanders, age 74, gained his wings to be with the Lord, Friday, October 8, 2021 at his residence in Midland, Texas., following a three-year battle with cancer. He was born in Lake City, FL., and was a long-time residence of Alachua, FL, until he retired from law enforcement and moved to Live Oak, FL. He loved family, fishing, farming, and writing country songs. Such songs as "Behind The Teardrops" which was a European top 40 single. He believed music touches our hearts in the way words can't and was an avid music lover. He was preceded in death by his parents, William N. Sanders, Onys N. Johnson Sanders, and his late wife, Patricia Christine Sanders.

He is survived by his son, Phillip Sanders Sr. of Midland, Tx; daughter, Karen Bryant of Fort McCoy Fl. Grandchildren; Nicholas Sanders, Phillip Sanders Jr. Natalie Bujanda all of Midland Tx; Chazz Bryant, Kylie Bryant of Fort McCoy Fl. Two brothers; Edward Sanders of Lake City, Fl.; and Terry Sanders, of Gold Bar, Washington, one sister, Maxine S. Bailey of Lake City, Fl.
