Charlene Maude Branch Alford, 86, of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday evening, July 16, 2025 at her residence, following a brief illness. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 23, 1938 to the late Charles Bell Branch and Maude Frances Goble Branch. She has made Lake City her home most all of her life and was a member of the Huntsville Baptist Church. She worked for over 20 years with the Palm Gardens Nursing Home in Lake City as the Housekeeping Supervisor, and prior to her work there, she worked for Metal Products and in her spare time, she enjoyed reading, playing cards and watching television. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Wesley Morgan, Sr., her second husband, Barney Velton Alford, Sr.; two brothers, Charles & Phil Branch; and her sister, Ruth Ann Branch.

She is survived by her sons, Gordon Wesley Morgan , Jr. Timothy Lee Morgan (Tammy) and Barney Velton Alford, Jr. all of Lake City; and her sister, Roberta Branch of Pennsylvania. Eight grandchildren, Nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.

A funeral service for Mrs. Alford will be conducted on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery (US Hwy 441 North).
