Celestine Walker, age 95 of Lake City, passed away peacefully on, Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at her home with her family.  She was born in Jacksonville, Florida and was raised in Ocala, Florida.  Mrs. Walker made her home in Hollywood, Florida for many years before moving to Lake City ten years ago.  She was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship in Lake City.  Mrs. Walker was preceded in death at a young age by her mother, Catherine Battles, and was raised by her grandmother, the late Lydia Goodman.  Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, John Thomas Walker; her youngest daughter, Holly McIntosh; two brothers, James Gilbert Goodman and James Goodman; and one sister, Annie Bell.

Survivors include her children, Mary Garrett, James Woodard Jr., Carolyn Jiles and Linda Walker; 15 grandchildren, Darryl Clark, Celestine Pearson, David Clark, Cetressia Jordan, Seaven Moses, Johnny Woodard, Celestine Woodard,  James Woodard, Yolonda Littles, Kristina Jiles Skelton, Quinton John Donaldson, Iris Jeanell Walker, Sarell McIntosh, Jontrel McIntosh and Jeremiah McIntosh; and a host of great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Walker will be conducted on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 3:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Buddy Meloy of New Life Christian Fellowship, officiating.  A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
