Catherine "Kitsy" Pearl Green Thomas, 85, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, July 27, 2026 at The Heron Assisted Living Facility in Lake City. She was born in Jacksonville, FL on October 22, 1940. She was raised by her parents, the late Catherine Rowling Green and Walter F. Green. Kitsy has made Lake City her home most of her life, but enjoyed summers in her second home in Turtle Lake, ND. She was a homemaker along with supporting her late husband, Mike as the owner and operator of Thomas Honey here in Columbia County. Kitsy was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, led WMU, and sang in a gospel trio with other ladies of the church. In her younger years, she enjoyed reading, crafting, painting and ceramics. Her lifelong passion was pouring into her family and friends; this was evident in her faithful efforts to feed those she loved, her dedication to the Forest Hills Academy PTO, and her joyful involvement with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of over 64 years, Henry "Mike" Michael Thomas; her brother, Walter Green, Jr.; and her great-grandchildren, Thomas Krohmer and Lilly Thomas.
She is survived by her loving and caring children, Rocky Thomas (Marie), Kathie Thomas-Robarts (John), Jeff Thomas (Marcie), Kelly Rae Thomas-van Rooyen (Dirk) and Kristi Thomas Adams (Brett); sisters, Shelly Bellows and Rachel Rosset (Rudy) along with several dearly loved cousins, especially Donna Holt (Curtis) with whom she shared a sister-like bond until her last days. Sixteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren also survive.
A funeral service for Mrs. Kitsy will be conducted on Saturday afternoon, August 1, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 1007 NE Needmoore Road, White Springs, FL, 32096.
