Lake City Reporter Obituary Notice

Mrs. Carolyn R. Elswick, 74 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Health Center of Lake City.  She was born in Chiefland, Florida to the late Finus and Ernestine Highsmith Rimes and had lived in Lake City since 1981 having previously lived in Sanford, Florida for many years.  Mrs. Elswick was a member of the Lake City Board of Realtors, the Red Hat Society, the Sassy Ladies Group and a member of Parkview Baptist Church where she was previously in charge of the Women's Missionary Union.  She was a loving wife to the late James "Jim" Elswick, who preceded her in death in 2005, and a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her son, Brian Wilkerson, St. Augustine, FL; and her two grandchildren, Grant and Bryce Wilkerson both of St. Augustine, FL.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Tatem, pastor of Parkview Baptist Church, officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be from 5-7:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkview Baptist Church Missions Fund at 268 NW Lake Jeffery Road, Lake City, FL 32055.  Arrangements are under the direction of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 3596 S US Hwy 441, Lake City.  Please leave words of comfort for the family at www.gatewayforestlawn.com
