Mrs. Carol Howse Wright, 78, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the Suwannee Valley Haven Hospice Care Center in Lake City after an extended illness. She was born in Lake City on March 6, 1939 to the late Percy Howard Howse and Marcia Lee Roberts Howse. She was a life-long resident of Lake City and a member of the First Advent Christian Church. She worked for many years with the Brown Abstract & Realty Company and the Abstract Title & Realty. In her spare time she loved to go fishing, especially to the Gulf, where she would always catch the biggest and most fish. She also loved to cook and make her crock pot candy; she always loved to go with her group of friends to Curves and Lunch whenever she could; she was also a very avid Florida State Seminoles Fan. She is preceded in death by her sister; Kay Shaw.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years; Forest Wright of Lake City; her son; Howard Wright of Tallahassee; and her sister; Janet Sawyer of Lake City. Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wright will be conducted on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Fred O. Gaylard, Jr., Pastor of First Advent Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 P.M. (one hour prior to the services) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be considered to Haven Hospice, 6037 W US Highway 90, Lake City, FL 32055.
