Carol Ann Hulse Palasak, 89, of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 9, 2026 at the UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville. She was born on August 17, 1936 in Mt. Kisco, NY to the late Malcolm Burt and Winifred Sweeney Burt. “Nannie” or “Granite” as she was affectionately known, has made Lake City her home for a number of years and was a homemaker who enjoyed being a caregiver to so many folks. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing wordle and jumble; as well as traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving first husband, Lloyd Hulse, Jr., two daughters, Debra Susan Hulse and Tami Ann Hulse; and her siblings, Malcom Burt (Ginger), Robert J. Burt, Winifred (Joan) (Tony), & Barbara Gatto (Frank); her two son-in-laws, James Germany & Ron David; and her brother-in-law, Robert Amundson.
She is survived by her loving second husband, Louis Palasak of Lake City; daughters, DeeDee Germany and Patty David; step-children, Christine Keer, Ken Palasak & Karen Smith; and her siblings, Edward Burt (Noreen), Dorothy Amundson and William Burt (Jo). Eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, her adopted granddaughter, Allison Williams along with many nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of Mrs. Palasak’s life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 1:30-3:30 P.M. in the Christ Central Bistro.
