Carl Russell ?Russ? Johnson, 71, died Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) after an extended illness. He was a native of Woodlawn, Alabama but had lived in Columbia County for the last thirteen years having moved here from Jacksonville, Florida. He was the son of the late Carl Edward & Avalee Harris Johnson. A loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed cooking, writing and art. He is preceded in death by his son, Paul Johnson.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Alice Johnson of Lake City, FL; sons, Brian Johnson of Alpharetta, GA and Scott Johnson of Orange Park, FL; brother, Bill Johnson of Fayetteville, NC; sister, Dorothy Jean Street of Jamison, AL; and 8 grandchildren also survive.

Memorial services for Mr. Johnson will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2011 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3596 South U.S. Hwy 441, Lake City, FL 32025, (386) 752-1954
