Mr. Bruce Carlton Witt, 63, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 17, 2014. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Dorothy Jane [Harris] and the late Edward Henry Witt and had lived here in Lake City for the past 27 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather that loved devoting time to his family and God. He was a member of Christ Community Church (Lake City) and a former member of Abundant Grace Community Church (Gainesville). Bruce was a man of strong Christian faith that enjoyed walking outside where he could spend time with God in quiet reflection and prayer. He was a professor at Florida Gateway College for the past 27 years, teaching Golf and Landscape Technology.
Survivors include his caring wife of 36 years, Cindy Witt of Lake City, FL; daughters, Stephanie (Blanton) Lord of Woodward, OK and Kimberly (Josh) Howard of Alachua, FL; son, Bradley Witt of Lake City, FL; brother, Edward (Ronda) Witt of Melbourne, FL; mother, Dorothy Jane Witt of Gainesville, FL and grandchildren, Blythe, Brooklyn, Scout, & Jace.
Family memorial services will be held at a later date.
