Mr. Brandon Cody Hysell, 41, of Lake City passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 9, 2024, at his home. Cody was born in Dallas Texas on December 20, 1982, to Larry Hysell and the late Threasa Martin Hysell. He was a graduate of Columbia High School Class of 2001. He was of the Christian faith and a member of Christ Central Ministries.

Cody always loved helping people no matter what their background. Once you met him you were part of his family because that's just how big his heart was. He loved fishing, nature, catching frogs and snakes, and the entertainment of conspiracy theories. Cody had an infatuation with flashlights, as he had a collection of them. He loved woodwork and antiques also fixing things. His favorite times were spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of twenty-three years Miranda Sherrod Hysell of Lake City, FL; one daughter Taylor Hysell of Lake City, FL; one son Cody Hysell of Lake City, FL; his best friend and youngest child/dog Bella Hysell of Lake City, FL; his sister Adrienne Williams (Kenny) Lake City, FL; brother Shawn Hysell, Lake City, FL; sister in law Jenny Martinez, Lake City, FL; sister in law Patty Hysell, Lake City, FL; his father in law and mother in law  Walt and Tina Sherrod of Lake City, FL; father in law and mama in law Jerry and Teresa Cobb of Ft. White, FL; brother in law Brock Sherrod (Stephenie) of Lake City, FL; and Kolby Sherrod of Lake City, FL; along with numerous special nieces and nephews also survive.

A Funeral Service for Cody will be conducted on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dustin Busscher officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.  The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
