Bonita Carol Norris

Bonita Carol Norris, 70, of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday evening, June 16, 2026 at the HCA Florida – Lake City Hospital after a sudden illness. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on November 28, 1955 to the late Frances Carol Hill and Margaret Ellen Morris Hill Hall. She has made Lake City her home all of her life and was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church where she was currently serving as the Church Clerk. She worked for a little over 20 years with the Division of Forestry before she retired and then went to work for Walmart for a little over 20 years. After she retired from Walmart, she went to work for the Columbia County School District, where she was a Paraprofessional for Five Points Elementary School, Columbia City Elementary School and Melrose Park Elementary School before she completely retired after a little over 5 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed caring for her family and taking care of her “People” as well as traveling any chance that she had. She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, L.W. Norris.

She is survived by her son, Walter Lamar Norris (Hope); her extended child, Eli Dominic Kidd and his mother, Angela Norris; her grandchildren, Kayda Jade Norris, Walter Shane Norris & Bella Skyy Norris; and her sisters, Ann Adair (Garry), Patsy Davis (Stevie), Wanda Crawford (Sammy), Kay Nettles (Alan) & Marie Thomas (Rocky). Many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.

The family would like to invited family and friends to a memorial service honoring the life of Bonita on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1007 NE Needmoore Road, White Springs, FL, 32096.
