Ms. Betty Ruth Jones, 90, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, in the North Florida Regional Medical center in Gainesville, FL following an extended illness. Betty was the daughter of the late Samuel and Adel Ellis Godbold and is preceded in death by her husband Colquitt "Rick" Jones and is also preceded in death by two brothers Elbert and Marvin Godbold, and a great-great-grandchild Eason Perry Jones. Betty has made Lake City her home for the past seventy-two years and she was a member of Water Town Congregational Methodist Church, where she played the piano for the past ten years, after playing the piano for fifty-nine years at Bethel United Methodist Church, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery, reading, and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Ms. Betty is survived by two sons Randy Jones (Wanda) and Richard Jones (Lynn) both of Lake City, FL three grandsons Bryan Jones (Michelle), David Jones (Casey), and Robbie Jones (Katelyn) all of Lake City, FL. And eight great-grandchildren, also surviving are one nephew Marvin Godbold, Jr. (Karen) Baldwin, FL, and three nieces Elaine Denmark (Chuck) and Frankie Sue Jones, both of Lake City, FL, and Judy Loeffeler, Mims, FL.

Funeral services for Ms. Betty will be conducted on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in the Watertown Congregational Methodist Church with Reverend Randy Ogburn officiating, visitation with the family will be held Monday, November 7, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Bethel Cemetery Fund at 701 SW Wester Drive Lake City, FL 32024.
