Mrs. Betty Stephens Jones, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday morning, December 11, 2018. She was born May 22, 1928 to the late A.H. and Christine Stephens of Wauchula, FL. She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She also worked as a substitute teacher for many years in the Columbia County School System. She is preceded in death by her husband, John C. Jones; her sons, Jack and Joe Jones, daughters, June Jones Causey and Jane Jones Russell, and her brother, Gordon Stephens.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughters: Patricia A. Dicks (Harry) of Lulu, FL, and Marjorie J. Afyouni (Hossein) of Tallahassee, FL; Sisters, Charlotte Peters, Ft. Myers, FL, and Hilda Simmons, Orlando, FL.  11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, many relatives and friends also survive.

Services for Mrs. Jones will be conducted at Hopeful Baptist Church, on Saturday, December 15, 2018.  Visitation will be held at 12:00 pm with funeral services following at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
