Betty Marie Dortch, 85 of Lake City, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022 at the Solaris Healthcare of Lake City.  She was born in Carraway, Florida to the late Lloyd Byrd and Lois Thomas Byrd Dicks.  Ms Dortch was raised in Union County and attended Union County High School.  She had made her home in Lake City since 1955 and was a member of Hopeful Baptist Church.  Ms Dortch loved to attend church and was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and was always loyal to her family.  She enjoyed watching her soap operas, games shows and the food network.  Ms Dortch was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John Hilton; and one grandson, John Dortch.

Survivors include her son, Timothy Dortch (Lisa), Lake City; one brother, Robert Byrd (Kathy), Lake City; one sister, Peggy Carter, Lake City; one granddaughter, Amanda Dortch Bryant (Shawn), Lake City; four great-grandchildren, Tucker Dortch, Mayleigh Dortch, Caroliena Bryant and Max Bryant; nephews and nieces, Craig Carter, Lake City, Cliff Carter, Lake City, Michael Hilton (Kelly), Ocala, Amber Knagge (Brian), Providence and Debe Stephenson, Lake Butler.

A celebration of life gathering will be held at Ms Dortch's home (2855 SE CR 252, Lake City, FL, 32025) on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 PM.  All friends and family are welcome to attend.
