Betty McNeal Brannon, 88 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at her home.  She was born in Miami, Florida to the late Willis Dart McNeal and Grace Tillis McNeal Waters.  Mrs. Brannon moved to Lake City in 1947 from Miami and was a longtime member of the Lake City Church of God.  Mrs. Brannon worked for many years as a bus driver with the Columbia County School Board and she also worked for many years at JC Penney's in Lake City.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, arranging flowers and spending time with her family and friends.  Mrs. Brannon was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Stafford Brannon; one grandson, Robert Mitchell Jones; and her sister, Dorothy Blount.

Survivors include her son, Tony Stafford Brannon, Lake City; three daughters, Lynda Cauley, Lake City, Teresa P. Brannon, Lake City and Melodie Anne Tessier (George), Live Oak; one brother, Jimmy McNeal, Lee, FL; 8 grandchildren, Marc Jones, T.J. Brannon, Joshua Rawlins, Brannon Spradley, Megan Brannon, Trevor Spradley, Amanda Jackson and Jordan Anne Tessier; and 24 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brannon will be conducted on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the Lake City Church of God with Rev. Carl Thomas officiating.  Interment will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Lake City with Brother Dale Brannon officiating. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service at the church from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
