Obituary

Mrs. Betty J. Baker, 91, of Lake City passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Coffee County, Alabama, Mrs. Baker was the daughter of the late George and Gladys Mae Kemp Stinson and had been a resident of Lake City since 1969. Mrs. Baker owned and operated Bakers Electronics and Communications, enjoyed traveling and dancing and was a member of Hopeful Baptist Church, where she was a member of the 'Seekers" Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years R.L. "Roy" Baker in 1987, and 2 brothers, Tom Stinson and Jerry Stinson.

She is survived by her sons, Roy E. Baker (Belinda) and Douglas "Doug" Baker (Margaret); brother, E.J.Stinson; sister, Sheila Stinson; grandchildren, Brenda Morris, Christopher Baker (Elizabeth), Kimberly Schwien (Patrick), Vicki Segrest, Justin Baker (Jennifer); 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Baker will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Hopeful Baptist Church in Lake City with Dr. Billy Young officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
