Ms. Betty Lou Austin, 77, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Solaris Rehab Center in Lake City, FL. following an extended illness. She is the daughter of the late John Henry and Pauline Beatrice Gaskins Greene. Ms. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Terry Austin, one son Joe Austin, and a sister JoAnne Greene. Ms. Betty had made Lake City her home for the past forty-five years after moving here from Jacksonville, FL. She enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking, going to the mountains and beach, decorating her home, shopping and spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren.

Ms. Betty is survived by her son Byron Powell (Rachel) Summerville, SC, a daughter Terra Jones (Chris) Lake City, FL, Terry Austin, Jr. and Billy Austin (Elaine), Karen Abshire (Terry) and Tammy Milam (Larry) all of Jacksonville, FL. two brothers Gerald Fender, White Springs, FL; Wayne Green (Rita) Ray City, GA, and one sister Barbie Garren, Ray City, GA. and four grandchildren Autumn and Addison Jones, and Jase and Paisley Powell.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with her son-in- law Pastor Chris Jones officiating. Interment will follow immediately following graveside service.
