Bertha Eleanor Keen Campbell, 92, passed away Wednesday; May 7, 2014 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center. She was born in Columbia County to the late Eula and Edna "Green" Keen and lived in Lake City most all of her life. She was a kind & loving wife, mother, grandmother, great & great great grandmother who enjoyed being outdoors, doing yard work and was a wonderful cook, but the time spent with her family, gave her the greatest joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her dear husband, Charlie Ray Campbell.
Survivors include her sons, Nathan Ward and Johnny Ward both of Lake City, FL, and Anthony (Carolyn) Ward of Live Oak, FL,; daughters, June (Jim) Stillwell of Huntersville, NC, Sharon (Spanky) Harrell of Lake City, FL, and Sandra (Al) Croft of Lulu, FL; brother, Reverend Nathan Keen of Panama City, FL; 20 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday; May 10, 2014 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Gaylard officiating.
Interment will follow in Keen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Friday evening, May 9, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the First Advent Christian Church, 1881 SW McFarlane Ave., Lake City, FL 32025 or to the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) 6037 US Hwy 90 West, Lake City, FL 32055.
