Benjamin Clinton "Ben" Kadel, age 71 of Fort White, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at the Shand's at the University of Florida Hospital  in Gainesville.  Mr. Kadel was born in Arlington, Virginia, the third son of four to the late Charles Benjamin Kadel and Wilma Marie Utt Kadel.  He had made his home in the Fort White and Lake City communities since 2003 having moved here from Pompano Beach, Florida.  Mr. Kadel was of the Apostolic Faith and a member of the Hatchbend Apostolic Church in Hatchbend.

Mr. Kadel worked for many years in the trucking industry and driving from Pompano Beach to New York for 17 years.  He also owned and operated the Carolina Medical Corp in Charlotte, North Carolina from 1979-1985.  While living in North Florida, Ben worked with Candies Limo in Gainesville driving the Florida Gators and volunteered seven years, countless hours with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, Citizen Service Unit.  Mr. Kadel was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bobby Kadel and Buddy Devereaux; and one granddaughter, Marlynn Kadel.

Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Kadel, Fort White; his son and family, Benjamin Wayne Kadel, fiance' June Robison of Orlando, grandchildren, Matthew Kadel, Payton Kadel and Dylan Fish, and great-grandchildren, Sadiegh Kadel and Matthew Kadel, Jr.; his daughter, son-in-law and family, Alisa and Joseph Fischer, Lake Worth and grandchildren, Cross Fischer and Edan Fischer; one brother, Charles "Chuck" Kadel, Summerfield; and his nephew and wife, Philip and Tanya Devereaux, Winter Garden.

A Celebration of Life service honoring Mr. Kadel will be conducted on Saturday, January 25, 2025 11:00 AM at the Hatchbend Apostolic Church in Hatchbend, Florida with Pastor Steve Boyd and Pastor David Elms officiating.  A reception will immediately follow in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnell to Towers, in memory of Mr. Kadel.
