Dr. Barney E. McRae, Jr. ,92, of Lake City passed away on Monday, February 07, 2022 at his residence. A native of Starke, Florida, he was the son of the late Barney E. and Ethel Bailey McRae, Sr., attended Bradford County schools before attending the University of Florida and the University of Miami before receiving his Doctorate degree. He practiced in Lake City before retiring in 1998 and was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church. Dr. McRae was a Veteran of the US Army.

Dr. McRae is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Virginia "Ginny" McRae; sons, Skip McRae (Tonja Vandzant), Norman Ives McRae (Wanda), Chris McRae (Cindy), and Mike McRae (Stacy Whiteside); sisters, Betty Wells, Vivian Harley, and Marian Conner; seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren also survive.
