Barbara Jean Wood, 58 of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Shands at the University of Florida Hospital in Gainesville.  She was born in Ocoee, Florida and was a longtime resident of Ocala before moving to Lake City 12 years ago.  Mrs. Wood worked to 8 years with Publix Supermarket in Lake City and loved her Publix family dearly.  She loved to fish and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.  Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her mother, Reba Jacks Warr.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Al Wood, Lake City; her father, Ralph Warr, Ocala; her two daughters, Crystal Fernandez (Michael), Branford and Dusty Schneider (Rusty), Morriston; four grandchildren, Dakota Fernandez, Alia Fernandez, Mason Schneider and Caleb Schneider; her siblings, Angela Stump, Ocala, Ernie Warr (Stephanie), Ocala, Dwayne Watts, Ocala, Jeff Couch (Beth), Ocala, Vickie Personette, Dunnellon and Renee Warr, Ocala; her special friend and her family, Brandi, Klynt, Hunter and Gage Hilliard, Bell; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of life service will be conducted on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with her nephew, Ernie Wood, officiating.  A time of visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00PM to 2:00 PM in the Chapel.
