Ms. Arlene Harris McMurrain, 74, passed away on July 10, 2023, at her residence following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Austin Henry and Ada Orene Easterling Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert McMurrain.

Arlene graduated from Fairfield High School in Birmingham, Alabama. She made Lake Butler her home in 1996 after moving here from Alabama with her late husband, Robert McMurrain. Arlene and Robert married right after she graduated high school and were married for fifty-five lovingly years.

Arlene was always very loving and giving to people in need. She was always willing to help out her family in need; whether it be by giving advice, lending an empathetic ear, or offering reassurance by reminding others that "God will take care of it, so have faith in him."

Arlene had a passion for fashion and also enjoyed making beautiful things. Her artistic pursuits included designing and sewing clothes, making stuffed bears for her young nieces, as well as painting and decorating.

Arlene will be lovingly remembered by her nieces: Margarita McMurrain and Dana Vanpelt, her nephew Garryl McMurrain, and great nieces Milena Will and VeraFay Arlene Vanpelt, as well as her surviving sisters: Larue Smith, Wanda Brewer, Wade Harris & Menda Brown.
