Arlene Lois Gilbert, 63, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, February 2, 2013. She was born in Northlake, Illinois to the late Clarence and Marie "Satre" Schwenn.
She had lived in Lake City for the past 20 years after living in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for a time. She was a wonderful person who had a smile that would light up the room and was always a constant source of strength and stability to her family and friends. She was an outgoing lady who liked to travel, lovingly tended her flower garden, enjoyed fishing and boating. She was a member of the West Leyden High School Class of 67 in North lake, Illinois, The Lake City Garden Club and an integral part of the "Palmetto Princesses" Girls Night Out Club. She was a personality whose absence will be strongly felt among those she was honored to call friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Violet Beavers and Georgeann Clark.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Sandi (Nick) Masi of Elgin, IL, Jim Clark (Shari) Moore of Minneapolis, MN, Jennifer Beavers of Springfield, IL and Heather (David) Kadonsky of ? ; brother in law, Tom (Diane) Clark of Lake City, FL and sister she chose, Diann (Carson) Wallace of Lake City, FL as well as numerous friends and extended family.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2013 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Hayden Norris officiating.
Fellowship with the friends and family will be held one hour prior to service time.
