Anna 'Faye' Laughlin, 81, of Lake City, Florida passed away on Saturday evening, August 31, 2024. She was born at Station Hospital in Fort Benning, Georgia on September 29, 1942.
She has made Lake City her home a majority of her life. Best known as "Mrs. Futch" or "Mrs. Laughlin," Faye was a devoted public servant. A Teacher's Aide at Eastside Elementary, she worked for the Columbia County School District for over 35 years where she was named 'Employee of the Year' on multiple occasions before retiring March 31, 2009.
She enjoyed watching and playing golf, was an avid bowler, and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Lake City. Recently, she spent most of her time watching her favorite television show, Supernatural. Most importantly, she enjoyed being a grandmother, and spending time with her two grandchildren.
Mrs. Laughlin is preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Paul Futch and her second husband, James Brian Laughlin; her mother, Annie Belle Yates, and her father, Kenneth Frazier Sr.; and her brothers, Wynn Miles, Cecil Miles, Kenneth Frazier Jr. and Travis Yates.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Paul Futch of Lake City; grandchildren, Trenton Futch of Lake City and Tessa Futch of New Jersey; and her sister, Lynn Yates of Haines City.
A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Laughlin will be conducted on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Interment will follow.
