Anita Joann Shehan, 54 of Lake City, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the Haven Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center in Lake City. She was born in Belleville, Michigan and had been a longtime resident of Lake City.  Mrs. Shehan was of the Presbyterian faith and worked locally for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  She loved nothing more than looking after and spending time with her family.    Mrs. Shehan was preceded in death by her father, John VanWyck; one brother, Marty VanWyck; and one niece, Holly VanWyck.

Survivors include her husband, Joel P. Shehan, Lake City; her mother, Lona VanWyck, Lake City; her son, Justin Shehan (Brittany), Jasper; her daughter, Katheryn "Katie"Lynch, Raiford; three sisters, Dawn Thompson, Lake City, Paula Bush, Lake City and Laura Pasch, Toledo, OH; five grandchildren, Lyndsay Shehan, Aubrey Shehan, Tyler Whitaker, Mason Shehan and Brooklyn Shehan; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel.
