Amariah Ava-Marie Cox, 14, of Lake Butler, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. She was born in Lake City on July 18, 2006 and has resided in the Lake Butler/Lake City area her entire life. She was a member of the Columbia High School Graduating Class of 2025 and attended Christ Central here in Lake City. Amariah enjoyed painting, crafting, reading, playing and listening to music and spending time with her brothers and her family.

She is survived by her parents, Andrea Sluik and Charles Cox both of Lake Butler; brothers, Isaiah Cox and Phoenix David Ortiz Sluik all of Lake Butler; grandparents, Lyle & Rose Sluik both of Lake City, Mike and Teresa Cox both of Lake City and Janet Sluik and Larry Bass both of Nashville, TN; great-grandmothers, Frances Theilen, Shirley Highsmith and Cheryl Amodei; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Amariah will be conducted on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, April 12, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
