Obituary

Aline Inize Strickland, 82, of Lake City, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 20, 2025, at her home. Born on April 10, 1942, in Starke, Florida, Aline spent most of her life in North Florida, making Lake City her home since the mid-1970s.

Aline was the embodiment of a loving and devoted wife and mother. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her beloved husband, children, and grandchildren. She was married to Charles "Chuck" Strickland, Jr., for more than 53 years until his passing, and together they built a beautiful life full of love and laughter. In their younger years, they enjoyed cooking out, family camping trips, and days by the water. Aline was a caring and nurturing soul who always put her family first, with a heart full of warmth and kindness.

Her interests were simple but meaningful, often centered around her home and loved ones. Aline had a deep appreciation for the quiet moments in life. She enjoyed watching old westerns and loved birdwatching at her country home. Taking comfort in the beauty of the natural world around her.

Aline was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and her faith was central to her life. She was known for her gentle spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love for the Lord. To know her was to love her, as she had one of the purest, most loving souls. Her cat, Buddy, was a constant companion, and she cared for him with the same tenderness that she showed her family.

Aline was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Strickland, Jr.; her brother, Franklin "Frank" Stokes; and her sister, Rhonda Stokes.

She leaves behind her son, Charles James "Jimmy" Strickland (Lora) of Lake City; daughters, Charlene Strickland Durrance and Darlene Mullis (Roy "Mike") both of Lake City; and five grandchildren, Michael Durrance, Bailey Durrance, Stephany Mullis, Shelby Mullis, and Justin Mauldin. Her legacy lives on through her great-grandchildren, Jordan Durrance, Holland Durrance, and Hayden Sikes, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Aline's family takes comfort in knowing that her kindness, faith, and love will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew her.
