Albert William Hunt, 77, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Advent Health Hospital in Winter Park, Florida after a brief illness. He was born in Orlando, Florida on October 11, 1946 to the late George Herbert Hunt and Marguerite Terry Hunt. He has made Lake City his home for most of his life, and was a faithful member of the Evangel Church of God. He was a 1964 graduate of Columbia High School, and a 1966 graduate of the Lake City Junior College and Forest Ranger School with an Associate's degree in the Science of Civil Engineering Technology. He then went on to serve his country during the Vietnam War, where he served with the Army Corp of Engineers, where he discharged as a Captain. He then worked for Occidental and the PCS corporation for over 30 years, retiring as a Superintendent, remaining a cherished friend in the PCS culture through luncheons after retirement.

He was an outdoorsman his whole life. He will be fondly remembered as a proud Veteran, a lifelong fishing enthusiast who often invited friends and family on fishing trips to the Gulf of Mexico, an avid golfer, and an appreciator of nature, spending his years of retirement travelling to a plethora of National and State Parks with his wife and loved ones. He will be remembered as a devout Church man, who regularly led Sunday School classes and sang in the Church choir. Most importantly he will be remembered as a dependable family man, who always strove to make sure his family was well taken care of.

He is survived by his wife of over 47 years, Imogene "Jean" Stansel Hunt of Lake City; daughter, Julie Hunt Ward (Jason) of Winter Park; and son, Sean Hunt of West Virginia. Three grandchildren, Scott Works (Michelle), Michael Works and Kameron Hunt; and five great-grandchildren, Trycten Smith, Juliana Works, Nevaeh Smith, Nathan Works and Avery Works also survive.

A funeral service for Mr. Hunt will be conducted on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the Siloam Methodist Church with Pastor John Hathaway officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the church, prior to the service.
