Mr. Adelbert D. "Bert" Alexander, 84, of Lake City died Friday, August 6, 2021 at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City. A native of Newport, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Harry and Florence Walsh Alexander. Bert owned and operated Alexanders FRM for many years in Lake city and had also worked for Delta Farm Center. He was affectionately known to most people as "Uncle Bert". A member of Athens Baptist Church, he had served as music director for several churches, and loved the Lord and his family and extended family. Bert was preceded in death by his son Delbert Alexander in July 2021.

Bert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kate Alexander; son and daughter in law, Steve Alexander (Donna); grandchildren, Danielle Olson (Zachary), Brad Alexander (Evelyn), and Amber Craig (Woddy Lynch); great grandchildren, Kylie, Aubrey, Kayson, Crosley, and Hayes.

Funeral services for Bert will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mark Spradley officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Athens Baptist Church, 9090 SW CR 240, Lake City, FL 32024 or your favorite charity. The family requests that CDC guidelines be followed and everyone attending wear masks.
