Tommy Baisden, 59 of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Shands at the University of Florida Hospital in Gainesville with his family at his side. He was born in Logan, West Virginia to the late Jack and Renee Entringer Baisden. Mr. Baisden was a lifelong resident of Lake City and a member of the 1976 class of Columbia High School. He worked 14 years with PCS in White Springs and 25 years with the Columbia County School Board. Mr. Baisden was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and his family was #1 to him.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Shelly Clyatt Baisden, Lake City; two sons, Jason Baisden (Courtney), Odenton, MD and Jeremy Baisden (Bridget), Oviedo, FL; one brother, Steve Baisden, Lake City; one sister, Katrina Fullenkamp (Cyril), Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Blair, Brennan, Brianna, Bryleigh, Brooklynn and Blaze; nieces and nephews, Amanda Mancino (Jesse), Travis Franco (Ashley), Steve Baisden and Stephanie Baisden.
A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 4:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Fred Gaylard, pastor of First Advent Christian Church of Lake City, officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 3-4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lake City Columbia County Animal Shelter at 1392 NW Shelter Gln, Lake City, FL 32055.
