Thomas "Tommy" Wayne Clements

October 14, 1947 ~ May 17, 2017 (age 69) 69 Years Old

Thomas “Tommy” Clements, Sr., 69 of Lake City, Florida, passed from this world on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Gainesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville.  He was born in Lubbock, Texas to the Paul Kenneth Clements and the late Mareeta Belle Barnes Clements and moved his family to Lake City in 1989.  He was a courageous warrior and he won his battle against cancer and can now go home.  As always said by Tommy, “Semper Fi my friend, Semper Fi” and “Cowboy Up”.  Mr. Clements served in the U.S. Navy and had a very strong Christian faith and loved the Lord with all his heart.  Tommy and his wife owned several businesses but what he loved the most was after his semi-retirement, he worked at Camp Kulaqua.  He loved the camp so much he requested his funeral to be held there at Camp Kulaqua in High Springs, FL. Tommy was a good friend to all who knew him.  He loved painting, crossword puzzles and playing “UNO” with his youngest daughter Tomika

 

Survivors include his loving wife and best friend, Shane Clements; four children, Billy Clements (Melanie), Thomas Clements (Jessica), Mikala Grecian (Shawn) and Tomika Clements; and his beloved dog “Holly” all of Lake City; his father, Paul Clements, Breckenridge, TX; two sisters, Sherry Clements, Breckenridge, TX and Paula Adcock (Doug), Amarillo, Texas; one sister in law, Cathy D. Decker, Jacksonville; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandson. 

 

A celebration of life will be conducted on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 AM in the King Chapel at Camp Kulaqua at 23400 NW 212th Ave.,  High Springs, FL 32643, 386-454-1351.  The family request that guest be dressed casual.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lake City.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to a Worthy Campership at Camp Kulaqua (call camp for instructions).
