Welcome to the memorial page for

Sylvia LeBlanc Landrum

April 19, 1926 ~ April 5, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old

After a sudden illness, Sylvia LeBlanc Landrum passed away Wednesday, April 5th at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee, FL. She made her home in Lake City, Florida where she lived for over 45 years with her late husband, Louis Grady Landrum, M.D. She moved to Tallahassee, after his death, to be near her three daughters who resided there. She has been describe by those who knew her as "an original" and "true sport's-model".

Sylvia was born and raised in New Orleans. While a volunteer at Charity Hospital, she met her future husband, the late Dr. Louis Grady Landrum.  In 1948, they moved to Lake City where he began his medical practice and they raised their three daughters.

An avid golfer and tennis player, Sylvia had a passion for all sports, especially FSU basketball and football... second only to the Westminster Dog Show. She was generous and compassionate towards all animals, and people-- a foot soldier for the under dogs of the world. Organic food, clothes and cleaning supplies were her lifestyle dating back to the '60's, long before it became fashionable.

She was the last living survivor in her family of six children (Gilbert, Patricia, Lillian, Helen, Charles) born to Gilbert and Lillian LeBlanc.

Sylvia's legacy will lovingly be remembered by her three devoted daughters Deborah Landrum Hook, Prissy Landrum Elrod, Gina Landrum Campbell, of Tallahassee, FL, as well as her friend of 70 years, Mazelle Patterson, of Lake City, FL. She is also survived by her nephew, Chris LeBlanc of New Orleans.

She was blessed with six grandchildren: Joby Jordan, Camby, IN, Garrett Robinson, Tallahassee, Fl, Sara Britton Jacobs, Tallahassee, FL, Grady Campbell, Tallahassee, FL, Katie Campbell, Long Beach, CA and Kristopher Hook, Gainesville, GA. She is survived by ten great-grandchildren: Eli Jordan, Graycie and Brylen Bryant, Britton, Kenley and Raynes Robinson, Allie Boone and Whit Jacobs, and Avery and Ben Campbell.

A celebration of life will be held at Epiphany Catholic Church, 1905 Epiphany Court Lake City, Florida on Monday, April 10th at 11 am. The  family will receive friends following the graveside at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 3596 South US Highway 441, Lake City, Florida.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice or to the Leon County Humane Society.  Arrangements are under the direction of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 3596 S US Hwy 441, Lake City.  386-752-1954  Please leave words of comfort for the family atwww.gatewayforestlawn.com
