Sarah Jeannette Battersby, 86, of Branford, Fl., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Solaris Healthcare in Lake City.
Born August 31, 1931 in Baker, Fl., to the late James A. Hall and Clera Lee Lumley Hall. She spent most of her adult life in the Lake City and Branford area. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved to draw, paint, embroidery, crocheting, and to do puzzles until her eye sight deteriorated.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, husband; Edward Battersby and daughter; Pamela Roberts.
Survivors include her son; Ricky (Valerie) Hewett, of Lake City, Fl., daughter; Patti (Eric) Disken, of Branford, Fl., son-in-law; Wesley Roberts, of Branford, Fl., grandchildren; Cara Disken, Erin (Billy) Cannon, Lauren (Justin) Goodson, Dana (Bubba) Herron, Ethan Roberts, great grandchildren; Hannah, Briana, Aiden, and Ella Cannon, Kracie, Tucker, and Sydney Herron, Bryson and Braelyn Goodson, and Layla Roberts and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Battersby will be conducted at 2:00pm, Saturday, January 27, 2018 in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn with Brother Joe Shiver officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Baptist Cemetery. Visitation with the family and friends will be held from 12:30pm-1:45pm, Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the funeral home.
