Sallie May Reddick, 73, of Lake City, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Shands University of Florida Hospital in Gainesville after a sudden illness. She was born in the little community of Flat Woods in Ripley County Missouri on October 17, 1944 to the late Floyd L. Freday, Sr. and Clara Dolores Grotts Freday. She has made Lake City her home for the past 30 years, moving here from Okeechobee in 1986. She was a homemaker, who loved her roses, going to garage sales and collecting things. She loved her family dearly and was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her loving companion; Dan Thomas; daughter; Debbie Reddick Barnes and sister; Ruth Clark.
She is survived by her sons; Kenneth Reddick and Tony Reddick, both of Lake City and George Reddick (Jessica) of Lebanon, OH; daughters; Beth Freeman (Dennis) of Lake City and Sandy Defee (Henry) of West Palm Beach; brothers; Lem Freday (Nancy) and Sam Freday both of Missouri; sisters; Roberta “Bert” Flint and Nancy Clementson both of Missouri and her twin sister, Nellie Haege of Lake City. Grandchildren; Tori Hogan, Sami Freeman, Michaela Reddick, Kyle Reddick, Scotty Reddick, Michael Dupps, Emma Dupps, Albert Defee, Sam Defee, Martha Barnes Moore and Sallie Barnes along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Ms. Reddick will be conducted on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Howard Thomas, Pastor Lonnie Johns and Pastor Dustin Busscher officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. (one hour prior to the services) at the funeral home.
