Roslyn Renee Reeder Melton, 46, of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, Florida. She was born in Parma, OH on March 30, 1972 to Rose Estepp Reeder and the late Wilfred Bill Reeder. She has made Lake City her home since 1981, but had recently moved to the Plant City area. She was a Paralegal and was a graduate of the Columbia High School class of 1991. She attended college in Orlando at the Valencia College and was also a member of Christ Central Ministries here in Lake City. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, decorating, crafting, riding horses and going to barrel racing competitions. She loved her children dearly and loved animals, especially her little dog “Rodeo”. She also loved going to the beach and dancing. She is preceded in death by her brothers; Dennis Reeder and Roland “Bud” Staten, Jr.
She is survived by her loving children: Jim Ethan Melton and Emily Kate Melton, both of Lake City; mother; Rose Reeder of Lake City; brother; James Gregory Staten (Pat) of West Virginia; sisters; Beverly Hall of Titusville, FL, Nancy Zauner (Carl) of Ohio and Debbie Bond (Mike) of Arizona. Many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.
Memorial services for Ms. Melton will be conducted on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Lonnie Johns of Christ Central Ministries officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. (one hour prior to the services) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to Christ Central Ministries or to the First Baptist Church.
