Mrs. Rosalie M. Youngerman, 93, of Ft. White, passed away peacefully at the Lake City Medical Center Thursday morning, November 2, 2017 after an extended illness. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on February 12, 1924 to the late Robert G and Rosa Renner Hinders. She grew up and lived in Dayton until moving to Florida in 1971. She was one of the original Rosie Riveters, working in a factory in Dayton during WWII, making brackets for airplane machine guns. She loved to crochet, work crossword puzzles and go to flea markets and yard sales during her spare time. She was very involved with her churches at Berea Baptist, Elim Baptist and Ft. White Baptist. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, singing in the church choirs and singing solos during the Sunday services. She loved children; especially her children and her grandchildren. She is preceded death by her son; Bill Thompson, Jr.

 

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years; Tom Youngerman of Ft. White; children; Sharon Ewing of Vandalia, OH, Bob Thompson of Ft. White, John Thompson (Pam) of Fairfield, OH, Lea Bissacco (Mike) of Dayton, OH and Richard Thompson (Sandy) of Columbus, OH; brothers; Bill Hinders (Jackie) of Safety Harbor, FL and Henry Benbow (Ina) of Texas; sisters; Diane Hinders of Safety Harbor, FL and Carol Chance of Bushnell, FL. Fourteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren also survive.

 

Memorial services for Mrs. Youngerman will be conducted on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Ft. White Baptist Church. Memorial services in Dayton, Ohio will be announced at a later date.
